Disable directory listing (browsing) htaccess
In this WordPress tutorial, we will show you how to disable directory listing in WordPress using htaccess via the File Manager Plugin. You can use cPanel or FTP to access the root directory as well.
To start, access the root directory and locate the .htaccess file. This file is usually hidden, so make sure the settings are configured to show hidden files.
Inside the .htaccess file, add the following line: “Options -Indexes”. This command will disable directory browsing on your site. Save the changes and refresh the page. You should now see a 403 error, indicating that the directory listing is disabled.
We hope this video helped. Thank you very much.
