Protect Your WP Login Page: Add an Extra Layer of Security
Here’s a simple way to protect your wp-admin page by adding an extra password layer to your WordPress dashboard. This method is quick and easy and can help safeguard your site from unauthorized access. Let’s get started!
First, log in to your WordPress dashboard. Once you’re in, navigate to Appearance > Theme File Editor and find the Theme Functions (functions.php) file under your active theme. Scroll to the bottom, where we’ll add some custom code. Paste the provided code here, and don’t forget to replace the default password with your own custom password.
If you ever forget this password, you’ll need to access the root files using cPanel or FTP. Locate the functions.php file, where you can either retrieve the password you set up or replace it with a new one.
Thank you very much!
