Change WordPress default login /wp-admin without any codes
Do you want to change the default WordPress login page and use a custom URL without relying on plugins? If so, in this WordPress tutorial, we will show you how to change the default WordPress login page step by step.
To modify the WP login page, you can use plugins, implement custom codes, or rename the WP-login.php file. In this tutorial, we will focus on renaming the wp-login.php file. However, keep in mind that modifying core WordPress files isn’t generally recommended.
To access the wp-login.php file, you can use your cPanel or FTP to access all your files. Before modifying the wp-login.php, kindly download it as a backup. Afterward, rename wp-login.URL to any name you want to use as the new login URL. You will also need to replace the default wp-login.php with the file. For that, you can use Notepad++. Simply paste the code from wp-login.php and replace wp-login.php with the exact name of the new login URL. Remember, it’s case sensitive.
Now, paste the code back to the new login page and save your changes. Your new login page is ready. However, keep in mind that the logout functionality might not work as expected. Anyway, you should now be able to log in to your WordPress dashboard with the new login URL; the default one will not work.
